Description / Access Information
Mine Shaft Trail:
A trail between the Spring Creek and Grinder trails. The low end of Mine Shaft intersects with the Spring Creek Trail near to Spring Creeks high, northwest end. This low intersection is also near to Spring Creeks high terminus at Rip and Tear Trail.

Basically, this is a steep old mining road. The trail uses the roadway most of the way, only to jog off of the alignment briefly and repeatedly. Coming down the trail off of the Grinder, these added curves are a feature where bike riders can swoop up onto the hillside and they add interest to the trail. Climbing up this trail the jogs in the alignment are hard to get up and over.

Most people use this trail as a downhill link off of the Grinder. If you use it as a climbing trail, watch for others who may be coming down quickly. If you are descending, yield to those that are climbing.
