Gladiator Trail:
Gladiator Trail forms a short intermediate loop near the lodge; circling the Gladiator drainage. It offers a wooded adventure, crosses the creek at the top, and makes a connection to the Outhouse, Psycho, and Grinder trails.
To get to the Gladiator Trail from the lodge, head toward the north/far end of the lodge parking lot and look for the Lodge Loop Trail, which starts just to the right/east of the trailhead kiosk that is near the north end of the parking lot. Follow the Lodge Loop Trail up for about a quarter of a mile to the first intersection on the right. Turn right onto Gladiator Trail.
Gladiator can be taken around as a loop, or used to access other trails in this part of the network. To follow Gladiator as a loop, stay left at trail intersections and follow the well-signed trail all the way back toward the lodge. Nearing the lodge you will come to a section of the Lodge Loop. Jump on this portion of the Lodge Loop to continue down to the lodge.
Directions to Galena Lodge:
Go north from Ketchum on Hwy 75. The lodge is about a 24-mile drive from town, and heading up, it's on the right side of the highway. Riding a bike to the lodge is an option for strong, experienced cyclists. The highway has a good shoulder until you reach the Sawtooth National Recreation Headquarters/Visitors Center, which is located approximately 8-miles north of Ketchum. From the SNRA Headquarters one can continue up the highway on a bicycle, or riders can get on the Harriman Trail. The Harriman is a wide gravel trail that is open to non-motorized use. It runs from the headquarters to the lodge. Watch for areas of loose gravel along the Harriman Trail.
If you are coming at the lodge from the north, it's about six miles below Galena Summit on Hwy 75. The lodge will be on your left as you are descending from the Galena Summit area.
